The Radiant Body is one of the Ten Bodies in Kundalini Yoga, and it represents the aura and your energetic presence in the world. Activating and strengthening this body enhances your magnetic field, which helps you project light, confidence, and positivity.
1. Spinal Flex
Purpose: Stimulates the energy flow along the spine and opens the heart.
Posture: Sit in Easy Pose with your hands on your knees.
Breath and Movement:
Inhale as you arch your back, pushing your chest forward.
Exhale as you round your back, tucking your chin towards your chest.
Continue this movement in a steady, rhythmic flow.
Duration: 1–3 minutes
2. Sat Kriya
Purpose: Strengthens the Radiant Body, activates the energy in the navel point, and aligns the chakras.
Posture: Sit on your heels in a comfortable position. Interlace your fingers and stretch your arms straight overhead, with your arms close to your ears.
Breath and Movement:
Chant "Sat" as you pull your navel in towards your spine, and "Nam" as you relax your belly and allow it to expand.
Maintain a steady rhythm as you continue to chant and pump the navel.
Duration: 3–11 minutes
3. Pranayama (Breath of Fire)
Purpose: Purifies and activates the Radiant Body through the breath and energy flow.
Posture: Sit comfortably with your spine straight. Rest your hands on your knees or in a mudra of your choice.
Breath and Movement:
Begin by taking a deep breath in, then exhale forcefully through the nose in rapid bursts, while pumping your navel in towards your spine on each exhale.
Focus on keeping your breath rhythmic and continuous.
Duration: 1–3 minutes
4. Shoulder Shrugs
Purpose: Opens the heart and releases tension in the shoulders, activating the Radiant Body.
Posture: Sit on your heels with your spine straight.
Breath and Movement:
Inhale as you lift both shoulders up to your ears.
Exhale and drop them back down.
Continue this movement, maintaining a steady breath.
Duration: 1–3 minutes
5. Frog Pose
Purpose: Strengthens and stimulates the root chakra, helping to activate the Radiant Body.
Posture: Squat with your feet flat on the ground, knees wide apart, and your hands resting on your knees.
Breath and Movement:
Inhale deeply and hold the breath as you squat down.
Exhale and jump up slightly, landing softly back into the squat position.
Continue jumping in this rhythmic manner.
Duration: 1–3 minutes (optional)
6. The Prayer Pose
Purpose: Strengthens the auric field and helps connect to the divine light.
Posture: Sit in a comfortable position. Bring your hands into prayer position at your heart centre.
Breath: Breathe deeply and focus on your heart.
Duration: 1 minute
7. Meditation for the Radiant Body
Purpose: Focuses the mind, directs energy to the Radiant Body, and expands the auric field.
Posture: Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight and eyes closed.
Breath: Breathe deeply, focusing on the sensation of energy expanding from your heart centre.
Visualisation: Visualise your aura expanding outward, surrounding you with light and radiance.
Duration: 5–10 minutes
Ending the Practice
Mudra: Sit with your palms pressed together at the heart centre.
Chant: Close the practice by chanting "Sat Nam" focusing on the meaning of "Truth is my identity."
Relax: Sit quietly for a moment, allowing the energy to settle and the Radiant Body to integrate.
