Find a quiet place and light a candle.
Practice the Dharti Hai Meditation.
Allow yourself to arrive fully in the moment and connect with the steady, grounding support of the Earth beneath you, the heavens and cosmos above you and the presence of love within you.
.
When the meditation is complete, sit quietly and gently blow out your candle.
Notice what it feels like to sit in the darkness.
Without reaching to turn on a light, simply be present with it.
Ask yourself:
How does it feel to be in the dark?
What do I feel I am being shown here?
What am I grateful for?
What am I ready to leave behind at the darkest point of the year?
What do I want to bring back into the light?

Allow whatever arises to arise.
When you are ready, relight your candle.
Gaze softly into the flame and allow yourself to vision what you wish to cultivate through the next turn of the wheel.
Vision what you want to do, what you want to achieve, who it is you see yourself becoming.
What is the frequency you wish to embody?
What qualities do you wish to nourish?
What reality are you consciously choosing to create?
Write it down.
Then place your words somewhere safe.
You may choose to keep them on your altar, bury them in the earth, or burn them as an offering.
Sow the seeds of your desires and send them out as an offering to the Divine.
Winter teaches us that not everything grows in the light.
Some things need darkness.
Some things need stillness.
Some things need time beneath the surface before they are ready to emerge.
As the Sun begins its slow return, may you remember that your light never left you.
It has simply been waiting for you to remember.
The Wheel of the year has turned once more,
And the nights have grown longer and colder.
Tonight, the darkness begins to retreat,
And the light begins to return once again.
As the wheel continues to spin
The Sun returns to us once more.
As the wheel turns and the darkness falls, we welcome Yule and the sun's return. May the light within you spark and grow, guiding you through the dark winter. Blessed be the longest night, and welcome to the rising sun.
