It is taught through the wisdom of the great saints, passed down through the stories from Yogi Bhajan that through meditation and prayer you can heal your lineage of ancestral karma. It is said that when we are liberated, we also liberate 7 generations back and 7 generations forward.
As a meditation to bless the ancestors and heal your lineage you may want to visualise your ancestors lined up behind you; your parents, your grandparents, your great grandparents and so on. Then imagine, lined up before you, your children, your children’s children & so on. Let yourself become the bridge of transformation and healing.
Posture Sit in Easy Pose. Apply a light jalandhar bandha (neck lock) and close your eyes.
Mudra Place your right hand over the heart space, palm pressing into your chest Take your left hand behind you, resting the back of the hand against your back at the heart centre, palm facing out.
Mantra Begin chanting the Guru Ram Das Mantra for 11 - 31 Minutes.
To End Inhale deeply, pause your breath and feel yourself clear of the bonds and ties, then exhale and relax.
This practice is best done for 40 days.
